CHECK-IN: Visit AWESOME TOURS inside TAIRA, 734 Koyasan, from 13:00–17:00 or 18:30–19:00 (please arrive by 18:55). Your Tour Pass shows the final meeting time and nearby location. Afternoon check-in guests go directly to their assigned meeting point in the evening.

GETTING TO RECEPTION: No lodging pickup is provided. Buses and taxis have finished operating by evening check-in. Allow time to walk. For example, Rengejo-in to TAIRA is about 22 minutes on foot.

OPTIONAL RETURN BUS: The tour ends at Okunoin Gokusho around 20:20. The guide escorts bus users to the stop (about 15 minutes on foot; no fare required). Central Koyasan is 5–10 minutes by bus. Standing may be necessary. Most temple lodgings can be reached before curfew.

WALKING BACK: With enough time before curfew, guests with a 22:00 curfew or lodging closer to Okunoin than TAIRA may enjoy a scenic walk. TAIRA is about 23 minutes from the end point; open until 21:30 (last entry 21:15). Allow time to reach your lodging.

RETURN BUS TIMES: Okunoin-mae to Senjuinbashi: weekdays 20:43–20:49; weekends/public holidays 20:35–20:41. From Senjuinbashi: Rengejo-in 13 min walk, Nan-in 10 min, Fukuchi-in/Ryusen-in/Kodai-in 7 min. These are walking connections, not a list of all lodgings served.

ESTIMATED ARRIVAL (weekday / weekend): Rengejo-in 21:02 / 20:54; Nan-in 20:59 / 20:51; Fukuchi-in, Ryusen-in and Kodai-in 20:56 / 20:48. Check your route before the tour and return directly after the bus. Times vary with traffic and walking pace; bathing time may be shorter.

RENGEJO-IN: The gate closes around 19:00. Before going out, ask the temple office how to re-enter after gate closure. Follow those instructions and return by 21:30. The gate will normally be closed when you return.

PARTICIPATION: Guests staying at Renge-in or Sainan-in cannot join due to curfew, meal or bathing schedules. Renge-in and Rengejo-in are different temples. Ages 6+. About 3 km on dark, uneven paths and steps; good walking ability required. Please do not wear yukata.

EARLY CHECK-IN: Complimentary hot tea, including black tea, is available only for guests checking in from 13:00 to 17:00. For tour, travel or whether you can return before curfew, contact AWESOME TOURS with your tour date and lodging name.

DURING THE TOUR: Please keep voices low. No recording, filming or simultaneous interpretation during the guide’s explanations. No flash photography; follow the guide’s instructions in areas where photography is prohibited. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring warm layers.

WEATHER: The tour runs in rain unless canceled. Bring your own rain gear; no rentals. If canceled, we will notify you by 18:40. There is no dedicated tour parking.

TEMPLE SCHEDULES: Check your accommodation’s dinner and bathing times; ask the temple directly if unclear. Make sure the tour fits its schedule. Please do not ask for earlier dinner or changes to bathing hours or curfew to join the tour.

Dark, uneven paths and steps make this tour unsuitable for folding or powered wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walkers and strollers.
