Begin your journey at the famous Snow Monkey Park, where you can observe wild Japanese macaques in their natural mountain environment. In winter, you may even see them relaxing in the hot springs surrounded by snow. Next, enjoy a traditional Japanese soba lunch, one of Nagano’s best-known specialties. Please note that this meal is not gluten-free. The dipping sauce also contains fish-based dashi and may not be suitable for vegan or vegetarian diets. After lunch, explore the historic streets of Shibu Onsen, a traditional hot spring town with over 1,300 years of history and charming wooden ryokan. You’ll also have time to relax in a natural hot spring bath. For extra fun, try Shibu Onsen’s traditional stamp collecting with a special towel, a unique local experience and memorable souvenir from your visit.
