Guided through sacred rituals and traditional etiquette passed down for generations, you will gain a deeper understanding of Japan’s spiritual heritage while fully engaging in the atmosphere of the shrine. A Miko is a female shrine attendant in Shinto, Japan’s traditional religion. She serves the deities through sacred dances, helps maintain the purity of the shrine, and supports the priests. Miko are well known for their elegant white and vermilion-red ceremonial attire. In this experience, you will wear authentic Miko robes, learn traditional Shinto manners such as bowing, clapping, and graceful movement, and spend time in the serene sacred areas of the shrine, allowing you to feel its peaceful spiritual atmosphere and connect with the essence of Japan.
